Season-Best Performance at Brands.
ending the season in style…
Kent-based Un-Limited Motorsport with Duckhams Racing reflects on an extraordinary year following a season-best performance during the final race weekend. What started as a mere idea less than 12 months ago has quickly evolved into a competitive force in the paddock. The team's rapid formation and strong performances, capped by their best result of the season, would not have been possible without the unwavering support of Duckhams Racing, our iconic partner.
Racing under the Duckhams banner in their 125th anniversary year has been an immense honour. Duckhams, with its storied legacy in motorsport, has been integral to our success throughout the season. Their commitment to innovation and excellence aligns perfectly with the team’s values, and their backing has empowered us to reach new milestones on and off the track.
Dave Tyson, Team Manager, said: "The final round of the season gave us a fantastic opportunity to showcase both the car's pace and Daryl's skill right from the start. FP1 saw us hit the ground running with a great car, and in FP2, we tried a few different setups, including used softs, which gave us valuable direction heading into qualifying. Despite being in a difficult group, the car’s speed was evident, and we achieved a team and driver-best qualifying result of 8th.
In Race 1, we made the right call by opting for the soft tyre, which helped us capitalise on our starting position. The car’s race pace was strong, allowing us to battle with the top group and finish with a season-best 7th.
Race 2, however, was more challenging. We chose the medium tyre, while many of the faster cars behind us were on softs. This meant we lost some positions, but the car still showed good pace, and we brought it home in 13th, adding more points to the board. Race 3 was a gamble and a battle of endurance as the weather turned, with consistent drizzle making the track greasy. Wet tyres were the obvious choice, but unfortunately, Daryl didn’t get the feeling we needed from the car, and we finished outside the points.
Overall, 2024 was a great season for the team. We progressed throughout the year, not only in terms of performance but also in building the structure of the team. Now, we look ahead to 2025, where our focus will be on signing the right drivers and securing commercial sponsors to help us compete even higher up the grid."
Despite the challenges, 2024 was an exceptional season for Un-Limited Motorsport. The team not only progressed in terms of performance but also strengthened its internal structure. As the team looks ahead to 2025, the goal is clear: to expand the operation with two cars and two drivers.
